1. Brass Adventure|Ryota Ishikawa

Brilliant fanfare penetrates the air. Let’s start this adventure to a triple time rhythm. Crossing the sea, running around the world we go deep into the jungle, trekking through the muddy stream, we finally reach the mountain top an overlook the ground canyon. We have come to paradise in the sky.We are determined adventurers, flying free as a bird.No matter what challenge, we have the strong will to face the future. From this power we create the album “Brass Adventure”.

2. Are You Sleeping|France Folk Song/ arr. Ryota Ishikawa

The French nursery rhyme “Are You Sleeping?” Is famous throughout the world. In Japan the song is called “Rock, Scissors, Paper”. In Taiwan, where we often play, the song is called "兩隻老虎(Liang Zhi Laohu)" which translates to “Two Tigers”.Here we have our boss Sumatran tiger and his junior partner Amur Leopard playing passionately along with the low brass section and drum team. The complicated five beats rhythm is so lively and cool. This song will not put you to sleep.

3. The Raiders March|John Williams / Arr. Hisato Yamaguchi

The Raiders March, this song of adventure won't be forgotten. The Raiders March ,the main song from the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark is well know throughout the world. Let’s imagine many people hum this song while going to a unknown place. This classic action-adventure film theme is arranged by brass and percussion ensemble. Zoorasianbrass tackles the Raiders March with much power and passion creating a song that shines bright like a golden treasure.

4. Swanee River Variations|Hiroki Takahashi

“Swanee River” also referrd as “Old Folks at Home” is arranged for our low brass members; two tubas and two euphoniums. The piece starts off softly played in a minor variation. The songs builds up to speedy rhythm to six-eight-time leading us to the end.
Pay close attention to this catchy tune as our “Baritone Tuba ensemble” plays a heartfelt rendition of “Swanee River”.

5. A Moorside Suite:III. March|Gustav Holst/ arr. Hiroki Takahashi

Gustav Holst ,best known his music “The Planets”, composed this unique song for British-style brass band. The suite was composed for specific to be played the final round for “British-style brass band contest” in 1927.
14 members of our brass and percussion ensemble play the last movement of the “A Moorside Suite”.The song leads with powerful brass offering much fanfare. Next we follow along to an airy rhythm leading to a majestic climax.Throughout the song there is a n interchange between a powerful minor key and spectacular major key.
The difference between the two parts are very beautiful, and we are very pleased to play this song for you.

6.Toys Adventure|Leon Jessel, Leopold Mozart, Odajima Jyujin, Yoshinobu Koshibe/ Arr. Hiroki Takahashi

This song reminds us of opening a full toy chest, when opened its bright with exciting possibilities. The arrangement combines four styles. First the march style of the "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers". Next, we hear the beautiful and gentle "Toy Symphony". After that, we come to the traditional Japanese kid's song "Toy's March(Omocha no March)" using the Shostakovich style. Finally, we hear a piece of "Toy's Cha-Cha-Cha" with its dancing rhythm. Do you hear the unique sounds? Zoorassianbrass plays many toy instruments making this song more fun and interesting.

7.Percussion Jungle|Keisuke Minezaki

The breathtaking opening, the rich variety of beats, and the unexpected rhythm lead us to the primitive jungle. In this percussion jungle, we are excited to meet the local animals and the unknown. We use drums, bongo, conga and a few small percussion instruments. The players beat out a rhythm in perfect order with powerful and lively motion. Literally, the rhythm comes from the word "Zoorasianbrass", "Brass Adventure", and "Percussion Jungle". Let's go on an adventure and listen to exciting Percussion Jungle.

8.Australian Landscape|Australian Folk Song, Christina Macpherson/ Arr. Kohei Nishishita

As dawn breaks, this song's intro recalls the great Australian landscape. The song combines two Australian folk songs, "Click Go the Shears" and "Waltzing Mtilda".In "Click Go the Shears" we can imagine clipping wool from a sheep, and "Waltzing Matilda" is recognized as the country's unofficial national anthem. We can imagine Australia's history where pioneers rode on horseback throughout the vast land to develop Australia's great landscape.

9.Entry of the Gladiators|Julius Fucik/ Arr. Hiroki Takahashi

Grownups and kids can't help but smile when listening to this song. This song is composed by Czech composer Julius Fucik. You can hear the entertaining chromatic scale that's always used in circus and amusement parks. The piccolo trumpet's high tone combined with the complicated low brass beat is quite impressive. Additionally, Dhole merrily plays the cajon in march rhythm and in our DVD you can see his wonderful juggling performance.

10. Soran Brass|Hokkaido Folk Song, Takio Ito/ arr. Hisato Yamaguchi

This song is based on “Takio’s Soran bushi”which was arranged by Takio Itoh. It’s “Soran-bushi”.A famous traditional songs of Hokkaido's fishermen, arranged to the beat of Rock and Roll with a very upbeat tempo. This old folk song became very famous throughout in Japan.
Zoorasianbrass’s arrangement is for our 13 member ensemble of brass and percussion.Originally, the intro to the original song was played by Shamisen and Shakuhachi but we created the song to be played more like a popular movie by Hans Zimmer. The original strong, vibrant voices of the song are replaced by our trumpet and trombone called "Ya-ren" "So-ran".
This song includes the Japanese drum called “Wadaiko” the only time you can hear this instrument.

11. Dreaming of Home and Mother|John Pond Ordway/ arr. Toshiko Ogasawara

This peaceful, gentle song is encompassed by our French horn quartet.
In the autumn evening, standing on the road leading to my hometown I reminisce about my family. In the bridge of the song, we hear sounds like a hymms in church ringing out to the clear sky.
The Tapir family including Malayan tapir, Cousin tapir,Uncle tapir and Granpa tapir, create a beautiful ensemble.
It's amazing they don't fall asleep while playing like they sometimes do.

12. A Night on Bald Mountain|Mussorgsky/ arr. Kazuya Koshino

A ghastly sound comes from a haunting cavern.  The ghosts are ready to start the party.  This is Mussorgsky's "A Night on Bald Mountain" arranged specifically for brass and percussion ensembles of 14 members.  In this arrangement, the stringsand woodwinds parts are duplicated, the same as the original music.
Here the ensemble plays with much skill, creating a full sound that leaves the audience totally satisfied. The last part of the song, which is not so well known, is played with great power.
If you close your eyes and listen, you can feel the ghosts trying to escape fromthe powerful brass sound.

13. Over the Rainbow|Harold Arlen/ arr. Ryota Ishikawa

Our adventure is coming to an end, Indian Lion looks up to the sky and finds a beautiful rainbow.  This song, one the of the greatest songs of the 20th century, composed for the movie "The Wizard of Oz" we arranged for a magnificent trumpet solo.
There is a story that this song shouldn't have been sung by such a young girl.  Of course we are all so lucky to hear such a beautiful song and melody.
